Spain vs Portugal Football, Spain vs Portugal Result, Spain Won the Match

The last day of the Round of 16 Elimination Round in the FIFA in South Africa was already finished with Spain vs. Portugal in the final match which was held live at the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town.

Spain vs. Portugal

Unfortunately, this was the end for Portugal as the match ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of Spain. Both teams tried their best to lead the score by making their first goal during the first half of the game. However, both teams did well in preventing each other from making the ball into the net and thus the first half finished with a score of 0-0.

Luckily, Spain’s efforts paid off during the 63rd minute of the second half when Villa ended Portugal’s dreams to be included in the Quarter Finals by making the first and only goal in the whole match. Still, Portugal tried very their best to make a successful goal before the end of the match to at least push the score to a draw but Spain kept the ball so well that it was difficult for Portugal to find a way to make through it.

The match ended in the 93rd minute with a final score of 1-0 in favor of Spain. Congratulations to Spain as they will move to the Quarter Finals Round. Portugal’s stand-out player Ronaldo was kept largely quiet during the game with a late red card to Ricardo Costa. Unfortunately, this was not the day for Portugal as they will now need to go home after being eliminated in the FIFA World Cup 2010finals.
