The Twilight Saga Eclipse Premiere Tonight

“Eclipse,” the third film in the wildly popular Twilight Saga, will premiere in a midnight showing at theon Walker Lake Road tonight.

By late Monday night, a third theater had been opened for a showing on the big screen and 85 seats were available in each theater.

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” was touted as the most anticipated film of the year in 2010 by the National Movie Awards. The movie pits werewolves against vampires, and has set all kinds of advance ticketing records for online outlets. Officials at .com said the popular online ticket seller has sold out more theaters for “Eclipse” than for the 2008 blockbuster “The Dark Knight” and movies from the Harry Potter and Star Wars franchises.

MovieTicket.com lists “Eclipse” as its No. 1 advanced ticket seller of all time, shattering a nearly five-year-old record set by “Star Wars — Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.”

An official at Ontario’s Cinemark Theater said Monday the cinema quickly sold out its Tuesday night Twilight Trilogy, a special one-night event giving fans a chance to see “Twilight,” “New Moon” and the midnight premiere of “Eclipse” for also is offering “Eclipse” T-shirts for $20 each.

Diehard fans lucky enough to have gotten seats for that event will be glued to the screen for more than seven hours.

People wanting to buy tickets for Tuesday’s midnight premiere can visit Cinemark.com. Seating will be available first-come, first-served.

A spokesman said lines are expected to be long, and parking may be a challenge
